Updates on MRC Operations During COVID Guidelines

A note from the Director and family:

Dear friends,

We’d like to update you on some changes to our operation. First and foremost, we are still open to accept injured birds from 9 am – noon, though our intake procedure has changed slightly. As always, please call ahead so we can best advise you about the animal in question. When you arrive at the center, stay in your car and we’ll come to you to fill out paperwork and take the bird. We want to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for everyone.

In these uncertain times, it may be hard to find give and show appreciation. We are making a point to express our appreciation to our AMAZING volunteers! We thank each and every one of them who have made the decision to come in and continue to care for the birds and for those who decided to stay home, because that is what is best for them and their families. We do have a reduced number of volunteers per shift and they are taking their temperatures before beginning their shifts. We have increased our sanitizing regimen. What this means for you is we may not be quite as fast to return phone calls as we roll into baby season, but we will indeed be returning them!

We are also giving thanks to YOU, our faithful friends and supporters! We so appreciate your continued support! As you may already know, we have cancelled all programs and events until further notice following guidance from the CDC and Ohio Board of Health. We miss you all tremendously, but we’ll see you again as soon as we can! Our programs and events are the main source of our donations . Please go to our website if you are able to help.

As we navigate through these difficult challenges, we are ever grateful to have a good team here to take care of the birds, and as always we’re grateful for you. Please take care of yourselves and we hope to see you soon.
