At the Medina Raptor Center, we provide a variety of ways for the public to see many of the unique and beautiful educational ambassadors up close and learn about them. Each of these may be public or private and we will work with you to ensure that the experience is personalized so that it is memorable and enjoyable.
Educational Outreach programs
Our Educational Outreach programs provide a variety of activities and information that can be focused to the needs and desires of many types of groups, including, schools, churches, 4-H, scouting, seniors, libraries, and other community groups. These programs typically last approximately an hour and focus on talking about the bird species and the nature of their injuries as well as a strong focus on conservation. These programs are usually private to the group that is hosting the program so that the message and education can be closely tailored to the audience.
We also enjoy a very special partnership with many organizations such as the Medina County Parks system, the Village of Shreve, and Cleveland Metroparks, presenting a number of general programs on birds of prey and several owl walks throughout the year. Many of these programs are open to the public and admission is free. A schedule of these public programs can be viewed on our Events page.
Although we are not open to the public, the Medina Raptor Center is happy to provide a tour of the facility for a donation. We can take you though the grounds of the Center, showing where our educational ambassadors live when they are not out on a program and a little of the day-to-day life of the volunteers. Tours must be scheduled ahead of time.
